Every HBO Miniseries Ranked Worst To Best

Nearing the end of his stint as Game of Thrones' resident hero, Kit Harington found himself playing his own ancestor Robert Catesby, the mastermind behind the 1605 Gunpowder Plot. Gunpowder features much of what made Game of Thrones such a hit, from its complex characters to its unflinching look at historically accurate and grisly violence.

Gunpowder, despite Harington's uncharismatic performance and the fact at only three episodes it still feel slightly overlong, is still a tense and informative drama, and its quality is held up by a genuinely affecting finale.
