Every MCU TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Luke Cage: Season 2

Punisher Ghost Rider2
Netflix

Mr Cage’s second outing is highly improved with it packing some serious power and a solid disposition like its titular hero.

More so then before, the borough of Harlem is the main character as it charts the high-stakes (and super-powered) drama of the locations crime world. Sure, ’The Wire with superheroes’ is an ambitiously unrealistic goal to have but the show at least has the balls to try.

Cage is given a strong arc this time around with Mike Coulter embracing a more exposed and dimensional take on the character. Mustafa Shakir makes for a captivating villain too - a man who can outmatch Cage’s strength and intelligence - with his rude boy swagger a memorable presence even if his plot fizzles out.

Regardless, this is really Alfre Woodard’s show with her broken character going through the ringer and the actress throwing every ounce of theatrical talent she can muster - it’s a fascinating arc from beginning to end.

It's not all gravy though, with the last act dragging its feet and some unnecessary flashbacks standing out like sore thumbs. Still, after Season 1's mid-point stumble, there was nowhere to go but up and luckily this one doesn’t just avoid the former mistakes, it improves its strengths too. - oh yeah, and there’s about three times more Wu-Tang infused bash-ups as well.
