Everything We Know About Lucifer Season 5 Part 2
So tell me, what is it that you desire?
The first half of Lucifer's Season Five aired on Netflix on 21 August 2020.
There were last minute plot changes, as Netflix renewed the series for a sixth season. That, and the global pandemic, meant that the second half of Season Five was delayed. However, filming has now been completed and the cast has been filming Season Six since October 2020.
As yet, there is no confirmed date for Part Two of Season Five to air, with several sources suggesting it should be in the first quarter of 2021 - although the writers have recently admitted that even they don’t know when the episodes will be ready.
Season Five has already been a rollercoaster ride, with exciting storylines for all the main characters. Highlights included (warning - spoilers!) Lucifer returning from Hell and finding out his brother Michael had been impersonating him, Chloe discovering she was a gift from God, Maze finding her mother Lilith, Amenadiel disappointed that baby Charlie was human, Linda tracking down the daughter she gave up for adoption at 17, Dan finding out Lucifer is the Devil, and Ella accidentally dating the ‘Whisper Killer’!
A final epic time-frozen showdown between Amenadiel, Lucifer, Maze and Michael ended the last episode on a cliffhanger, with God intervening at the end, begging them to stop the violence.
So what’s in store for Part Two of the season? Here are some of the theories we have found about the final episodes…
7. Episode 9: Family Dinner
With the previous episode ending in the appearance of God (Dennis Haysbert), it is fairly safe to assume that he will be involved in the ‘family dinner’. He ended the fight by saying “That’s enough children – you know I hate it when you fight”, so it is likely to be an attempt to discuss the grievances that led to the epic battle in the police station.
Showrunner Joe Henderson revealed on Twitter that the Family Dinner episode contained the longest single scene in the show, at 11 minutes and 27 seconds. He also stated that the episode took two days to film, would be predominantly shot in one room, and featured just five actors.
Lucifer, Amenadiel and Michael are all God’s family, as is baby Charlie, but it can’t be dismissed that Lucifer and Amenadiel could also want to introduce their lady friends to their father, so Chloe and Linda could be part of the five. Maze has also always been treated like family by Lucifer.
It is also worth noting that the Lucifer Writers Room Twitter account released a photo of a previous title of Episode Nine that had been redacted for apparently giving away a spoiler. The photo also contained the phrase ‘Trixie killed...’ with the next word cut off, so fans have been wildly speculating who she killed or was killed by.
