Family Guy: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
8. Season 9
Season 9 kicks off with a double-length episode revolving around a murder mystery. Watching several key characters being killed off in a well-crafted whodunnit detective story was a great way to suck in viewers.
Although the rest of the episodes aren't on the same caliber, they're really solid. Surprisingly, Season 9 focuses on plot-centred jokes instead of needless cutaway gags, which was starting to feel like a tiresome crutch.
A lot of the stories are original including Meg thirsting for Joe, the Griffins switching roles in the family, and Stewie going back in time to stop his evil twin from killing Leonardo da Vinci. Y'know, that classic trope.
The season ends with the the final entry of the Blue Harvest trilogy, which is funnier than it should be, considering it was only greenlit because 'Fox made us do it' according to the episode's opening crawl.
