8. Where Is The Government?

The government have stayed incredibly quiet so far, but with such widespread rioting, they surely can't stay that way for long? There's only so much you can dismiss as a 'hoax' or 'training exercise', so it's time for them to react. Or are the government already so ahead of the game that they've accepted millions will die? Is their job to contain the spread of walkers across the country by keeping people in condensed cities? There has to be some sort of last-resort, Hail Mary option to deal with such a crisis, but whether the government deploys it or goes down with a whimper is yet to be seen.
