The Flash: 19 Easter Eggs And References You Have To See

2. Wayne Tech/Queen Inc Merger

Besides Wells standing up out of his wheelchair and smiling like a baddie after a full episode of bemoaning his lack of working legs and acting all benevolent, the most shocking twist at the end of the pilot was what he was looking at in his little secret STAR Labs room: a newspaper from ten years in the future (which must be why it's a hologram; print media's already pretty much dead in our time, after all) which is full of potential spoilers for what The Flash has in store for viewers. There's a particularly huge and tantalising clue to dig into in just a second, but besides the headline story there are a couple of stories further down the page which are incredibly exciting Easter eggs for fans. Principally, the front page story reporting on a merger between Queen Inc and Wayne Tech. The former is, of course, the company which gives Oliver Queen the cash he needs to continue his activities as Starling City vigilante Arrow. Which is something of a spoiler, since it means if there's ever a plot in that show about the company failing, everybody knows it's fine for at least the next decade. What's more interesting is the latter, since it ties the Batman universe in with The Flash and Arrow; DC have remained coy about the relationship between their films and their TV shows, so perhaps this is the first confirmation fans have that a Bruce Wayne of some variety exists in the CW televisual universe and, who knows, maybe we'll see the Dark Knight dropping by Central City some day?
