Friday Night Lights Cast: Where Are They Now?

3. Michael B. Jordan (Vince Howard)

Friday Night Lights Jesse Plemons
NBC

Fresh from his terrific turn as young dealer Wallace in The Wire’s first season, Michael B Jordan played one of the starring roles in the final two seasons of Friday Night Lights. As Vince Howard, he anchored the show’s new focus on the economically deprived side of town, and was a large part of the success of arguably the show’s best run.

Since then, you’ve probably seen him in a movie or two. Jordan is now one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood, and has picked a smart (and profitable) selection of projects, with acclaimed, socially conscious indie work as well as some of the biggest blockbusters going.

Jordan began his association with director Ryan Coogler in Fruitvale Station, the sadly still hugely relevant true story of a young black man killed by police. The film was a success, with awards buzz for Jordan, who would collaborate with Coogler again on major films like Creed and Black Panther, perhaps the actor’s biggest mainstream role to date.

He continues to flit between major franchises (an upcoming Tom Clancy adaptation) and smaller passion projects like Just Mercy, a socially conscious legal drama and true story which Jordan produced as well as starring in.
