Friends: 10 Ways It Should Have Ended

6. Ben Should Have Met His Sister

What Happened

The show ended in 2004 and Ben hadn't appeared in it since episode 12 of season 8 which aired in 2002. This is weird and has caused numerous strange fan theories about why Ross didn't seem to see Ben at all since before Emma was born (2003).

Ben was only mentioned 6 times in the 54 episodes that followed his final appearance, and these could have easily been Ross referencing a child he no longer saw. Was Ross denied access by Carol and Susan, did he lose custody all together as a result of his bizarre behaviour?

What Should Have Happened

No problems with Ross' access to Ben were ever mentioned, so perhaps this wasn’t the case. More likely Ben was just forgotten about in the excitement of Emma's birth, and the whole Ross and Rachel thing. That's pretty sad though. A few extra scenes with Ben would have allowed Ross’ character to develop a more responsible side, adding weight to the Ross and Rachel saga by making his distress about Emma being so far away in Paris more believable.

Aside from Ben adding to the Paris storyline, it’s really not cool that he didn’t get to meet his baby sister.
