9. Making Up A Roommate To Avoid Living With Rachel
In the season 6 episode 'The One With Ross' Denial', after Monica and Chandler insisted that Rachel move out from their apartment, she looked to the obvious choice for a roommate, Phoebe. In her usual bizarre way of saying things, explains that she already has a roommate called Denise and that Rachel couldn't move in with her. Rachel has to look elsewhere, writing Phoebe off as a possibility.
As the episode goes on, it becomes more and more obvious that Denise does not exist. A lot of evidence points towards Phoebe living alone, backed up by her haste in saying that Denise moved out, shortly after Phoebe learnt what a great roommate Rachel had been to Monica. With these facts, it's easy to conclude that Phoebe had made up Denise's existence so she didn't have to live with Rachel, and only changed her mind when she found out it living with her wouldn't be so bad.
While this is far from evil, or even the worst thing on this list, it's certainly bad how easily Phoebe would turn away a desperate friend with only her own best interests at heart. Considering every other member of the group would take Phoebe in without question, it just shows how selfish she can be.
