Friends is generally viewed as the greatest sitcom in the history of television. For ten seasons, that series pierced the mainstream public conscience like no series before it had – and like no series since it has.

One sitcom that, at least at times, came close to nearly matching the quality and appeal of Friends, though, was How I Met Your Mother. Ultimately, HIMYM didn’t quite top the ten years of Friends, but there’s no shame in that, for that’s like a horror movie just falling short of matching Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho or John Carpenter’s Hallowen.

Both Friends and How I Met Your Mother are clearly very different shows, yet one of the things they share in common is a truly phenomenal core cast of characters. And in Friends’ Ross Geller and How I Met Your Mother’s Ted Mosby, these shows have a pair who actually share quite a few of the same traits and quirks.

When looking at it, both Ross and Ted are often positioned as hopeless romantics… with the capability to say something stupid from time to time.

Considering all of this, then, here’s a quiz designed to see how well you can differentiate between Ross and Ted – as the task at hand is to decide whether the following lines of dialogue were said by David Schwimmer’s Ross Geller or Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby!

1. "Live Every Day To The Fullest. Love Yourself, Okay?"
