The biggest part of the success of Friends was clearly the six pals at the core of this powerhouse sitcom.
For ten years, audiences were constantly entertained by the antics of David Schwimmer’s Ross Geller, Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel Green, Courteney’s Monica Geller, Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing, Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani and Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay.
While those six are on a pedestal amongst the absolute greatest characters in the history of sitcom television, Friends was also helped out by a brilliant array of supporting players and guest stars. Not just that, though, but the show managed the rare trick of actually turning venues into great characters of their own.
The coffee house locale of Central Perk is the clearly the standout location of Friends, with so many of the show’s most memorable moments and exchanges taking place on the famed sofa that was front-and-centre for those scenes filmed in the coffee shop.
