Futurama: 50 Best Ever Episodes

26. The Day The Earth Stood Stupid

Everybody loves a good Hypnotoad, right? Well, "The Day The Earth Stood Stupid" is the very first appearance of the beloved creature. Though his appearance is brief, it makes such a strong impression in the early moments, that it really does a nice job of kicking off one of the most well-plotted episodes in the entire series. Continuing the trend that Fry's stupidity is actually the saving grace of all mankind, it also marks the stunning revelation regarding Leela's pet Nibbler as an intergalactic cog of Fry's destiny. Not only is Fry's showdown with the Big Brain a great examination of what makes him the most unconventional hero of all time, but the ongoing arc of the truth about his trip into the future began right here.

25. Amazon Women In The Mood

Even if you hate Kif as much as everybody else does, you can't help but just love "Amazon Women In The Mood". Aside from some classic Zapp Brannigan moments, the episode sees the men trapped on Amazonia and showcasing that when men get together, it's probably trouble. Fry, Bender and Zapp throwing around chauvinistic stereotypes is hysterical silliness. Better yet, the episode includes a spectacular guest appearance from Bea Arthur as the Femputer. The battle of the sexes is anchored by Arthur's performance, who lends her signature voice to one of Futurama's most unforgettable guest stars.
