Futurama: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

6. Season Seven

Futurama season 7
20th Television

Futurama's last season (unless someone decides to bring it back for the umpteenth time), season seven was a massive improvement over its predecessor, and that's mainly down to the relationship of Fry and Leela, who finally get the happy ending fans were waiting for. Not only is the finale a brilliant conclusion to the show, but it stands as one of the show's most poignant and well-crafted episodes.

Outside of this touching plotline, there are also solid doses of comedy from episodes such as "Viva Mars Vegas," "Near-Death Wish," and "Free Will Hunting," all of which find a way to capture the heart of the show's earlier run - even if they are a tad predictable and slightly unoriginal on paper.

Unfortunately, season seven is tripped up by much of the same things as season six. Again split into parts and consisting of a total 26 episodes, the season is stretched to the breaking point, with the middle run of episodes feeling particularly forgettable and slow.

There's definitely enough there to love, from the thoughtful ending to the return of fan favourite characters such as Calculon, but there's just not enough.

Best episodes: Meanwhile, Free Will Hunting, Game of Tones, Murder on the Planet Express
