Game of Thrones: 10 Most Inventive Deaths

5. The Golden Boy

As Viserys Targeryan found out during the show's first season, you should really be careful what you wish for. That goes doubly when you're dealing with a group of battle-hardened Dothraki warriors who hate being threatened by loud mouth royals.

To be fair, all Viserys wanted was a crown - one he felt was due to him - but threatening Khal Drogo and his new wife Daenerys with a sword was probably the wrong way of going about things.

Although he did get a crown put on his head, it wasn't the one he expected or wanted as Drogo poured melted gold over his cranium, killing him presumably through a combination of shock and massive brain trauma.

Not only was it one of the most squirm-worthy deaths you'll see on any TV show, simply because when do you ever see someone have red hot elements poured over their head, it'll probably go down as the most ironic demises in Game of Thrones history too.
