4. Joffrey's Comeuppance

Usually when big characters are killed off in the show, they go out in grandiose, spectacular ways and while Joffrey's death was neither of those things it was certainly a creative way to eliminate one of the show's biggest characters.

Although many would've enjoyed seeing Joffrey have his head chopped off by Sansa or somehow be burned alive by a dragon, he was instead taken down by accidentally drinking poison while ridiculing his uncle in front of everyone at his wedding.

What makes his death so ingenious is that even though everyone in King's Landing hated his guts, there was no way he could be attacked as he was so heavily guarded. We saw what The Hound and the King's Guard did to the angry mob who tried to attack him back in season two and it didn't end well for them.

So clearly the smartest way of getting rid of him without having to deal with the small problem of being decapitated would be to poison him when he's in front of all the important people who have come to see him get married.
