It€™s no secret that Game of Thrones likes to make its heroes suffer while letting the bad guys make out like bandits. For instance, the Freys and the Boltons, the two houses that planned the infamous Red Wedding, wiped out the Stark army in Season 3 and have yet to get their comeuppance. Well, in Season 6, their luck will run out. We€™ve recently been promised by series director, Bryan Cogman that this season would feature the biggest battle scene thus far in the series (no small feat). So where will this massive battle take place? Most likely, Winterfell. After the Red Wedding, Roose Bolton took over the Starks home and has ruled there ever since, along with his sadistic son, Ramsay. Adding further insult to further injury, Walder Frey has hold the Tully home of Riverrun. So how will these two villainous houses be unseated from their fairly secure positions? It turns out, the Red Wedding didn€™t sit well with a lot of people. Bolton is now Warden of the North, but his hold over the other Northern lords is fragile. Those loyal to the Starks are not keen to serve the man who killed Robb and are looking for any opportunity to rise up against the Boltons. The fact that there are several Starks wandering around the area, as well as the aforementioned Blackfish Tully, the Northern lords will likely find a new King (or Queen) of the North to fight behind. With all these factors, it seems inevitable that it's all culminating in a battle for Winterfell with the Boltons and Freys taking on the collective power of the other Northern houses, the remaining Tully forces, and most likely a few surprise guests from further North. While the end result of a battle on Game of Thrones is always hard to predict, it€™s safe to safe that the Freys and Boltons will soon learn that the North remembers.
