Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons The Movie Should Be A Prequel
1. A Wealth Of Source Material
As referenced throughout this article, there are a number of major events that this film could use as the basis for its plot, and there's plenty already known about them - thanks to the actual books, or additional texts like The World Of Ice And Fire - that the film's writers (which would surely have to be Weiss and Benioff) could draw on.
The building of the Wall, the Targaryen dynasty, Robert's Rebellion (to name but three examples); any of these stories could conceivably make for an incredibly compelling and exciting film, and the basis is already there for them to tap into, while also exploring it further than it has been so far.
These are key moments that have helped shape the Westeros that we know on the show, and ones many fans of the saga have long imagined in their minds. With a prequel movie, that imagine could be brought to life in the most epic way possible.
