Game Of Thrones: 18 Terrible Ideas That Were Great To Watch

14. Warning CerseiGame Of Thrones Ned And Cersei Oh, Ned. If ever there was a scene that perfectly encapsulated everything about a certain character, Ned's confrontation with Cersei would be his. In the moral sense, his warning to grant her time to flee and save the lives of her children was the right thing to do. In every single other sense imaginable, however, it was definitely a very bad idea from the beginning of the conversation. The warning signs were all there. With the king away on a hunt, Ned confronts the queen, and she freely confirms several of Ned's most damning suspicions about her relationship with Jaime, all of which are sufficiently damning to earn the golden head of just about every person that Cersei loves a prominent stake on top of the Red Keep. Ned is injured and isn't going to be making any stealthy escapes from the capitol. His daughters are very obtainable collateral for the Lannisters. Ned's friendship with Robert is just about the only factor protecting him by this point, and Cersei's admissions of her incestuous affair (as well as the true father to her children) should have given Ned a hint that he probably wasn't going to be long for the world. Outlining the details of his plan like a Bond villain was not his smartest choice. Nevertheless, this confrontation gave viewers the ultimate clash of honor versus cunning, and it would not take very long for us to determine the victor. (Spoiler alert: it isn't Ned.)
