Game Of Thrones: 7 Best Moments From The Mountain And The Viper
4. Arya Busts A Gut
After what feels like forever, Arya and the Hound have finally made it to the Vale. The Hound will be able to collect his reward, and Arya will be united with family at last. The two of them stop before the Bloody Gate and introduce themselves, only to be informed that her Aunt Lysa died...three days ago. The Hound is visibly shocked, while Arya reacts not with grief or anger. No, she starts laughing hysterically while the guards wonder what is wrong with this girl. This moment really sticks out because of how unexpected Arya's reaction is. Her laughter is not what we expect from her upon hearing this news; we expect more of the same. In hindsight though, her reaction makes perfect sense. Not only is it incredibly funny for her to see the Hound miss out on his reward yet again, but how else can a girl drained of grief react to such news? So many terrible things have happened to her and her family, along with many near reunions, that she reaches a breaking point. This isn't so much a mental breakdown, but more of an acknowledgement of the absurdity of so many losses in a row. At some point you just have to laugh about it.
