Game Of Thrones: 7 Best Moments From The Mountain And The Viper
5. Sansa Confesses
After pushing Lysa Arryn out of the Moon Door, Littlefinger has a lot of explaining to do for the lords of the Vale. He chalks it up to suicide, which the lords aren't buying. To get to the truth, they bring in Sansa, who at first seems like she is going to rat Littlefinger out. However, she admits her identity and credits Petyr for getting her out of King's Landing. She then goes on to explain what happened to Lysa, mixing lies with truth in a performance so convincing it fools everyone. Lysa's suicide is accepted and Littlefinger is no longer a suspect. This is a huge scene for Sansa because it demonstrates that, after several seasons of naivety and crushed dreams, she finally understands the way things work. For the first time, instead of being used and abused, she takes advantage of a situation and secures her safety through cunning and intelligence. She understands that not only is Littlefinger her protection, but that, knowing now how he feels about her, she also can manipulate him. She has her own advantage and she is going to exploit it. This is so uncharacteristic of Sansa, which is why it is so exciting to see her go down this path. Will she eventually accept Littlefinger's advances? Or could she one day betray him and secure power for herself in some way? Only time will tell, but if Sansa continues down this route she will quickly become a fan favorite.
