Game Of Thrones: 7 Dumbest Mistakes Made By Characters (And What They Cost)
2. Bran's Curiosity
The Mistake: Bran Stark, infinitely curious, is repeatedly told by the Three-Eyed Raven that he has much to learn about his visions before he's ready to leave. Since arriving at the cave, the Three-Eyed Raven accompanies Bran into these visions, advising him on what he can and can't do. When the Raven is resting, however, Bran enters a vision alone, alerting the White Walkers to his presence.
What It Cost: Hodor's entire life and sanity, and potentially a whole lot more. By interacting with a weirwood root without the Raven's instruction, Bran is marked by the Night King, disabling the cave's magic and guiding the Walkers directly to them.
This leads to Bran warging into Hodor in the past, messing up his mind while he tries to save everyone in the future. All Hodor gets for a life of mental anguish is stabbed to death by an army of wights.
Plus, the full ramifications of Bran's mark aren't fully known, but some fans think that the mark will be enough to disable the magic that's holding up The Wall, too, allowing the Walkers to cross freely into Westeros. Yeah, nice one, Bran.
