Game of Thrones: 10 Best Moments From The Children
3. Arya Heads To Braavos
After leaving the Hound to die, Arya spots a port on horseback. When she gets there she pleads with a ship captain to take her north to the Wall. He's not heading that way, though, he is actually heading towards the Free City of Braavos. Remembering the coin Jaqen H'ghar gave her, she gives the coin to the captain and says "Valar Morghulis." The captain responds with "Valar Dohaeris" and enthusiastically offers Arya a cabin on his ship. The episode ends with Arya on the ship taking one last look at Westeros before turning her gaze to an unknown future in Braavos. This moment is the pay off to the coin Jaqen H'ghar gave her all the way back at the end of the second season, and it couldn't have arrived at a more perfect moment. Arya has nothing left to live for in Westeros. Her home and family has been destroyed and the last remaining members scattered across the land with no awareness of each other. Where once she had an excuse not to leave with Jaqen to Braavos now she has none. Arya is heading into a new chapter in her life, one she seems to be enthusiastically looking forward too. It is a rare moment of hope in a story that rarely offers any. It also means that we'll be seeing more of Braavos next season, as well as the Faceless Men. There is much to look forward too for Arya next year.
