Game Of Thrones: All 26 Characters From Season 1 (Who Aren’t Dead Yet) - Ranked
7. Jaime Lannister
Jaime is the archetypal complex Game Of Thrones character: morally, he's one of the worst - having crippled Bran, murdered countless souls, raped his sister, spawned incestuous brats (and one spawn of Satan) - but he's also irresistibly likeable.
He's gone from being arguably worse than his adulterous sister in the first season (thanks to making Bran fly) to being one third of the most shipped love triangle in Westeros opposite the unfailingly moral Brienne and the delightfully savage Tormund. The fact that he's even remotely considered a viable romantic option for the knight protector is a fairly big indication of where he sits in fandom's appreciation.
There have been low points along the way, and Jaime definitely has a meeting booked with the Grim Reaper reasonably soon, but there are twists to come in this story yet, and he may just end up being the best example of a redeemable villain in the whole show. Or he'll revert to type and deserve everything he gets. That's the beauty; we just don't know.
