Game Of Thrones: Power Ranking Every Major House
2. House Targaryen
Status: Active
Remaining Family Members: Daenerys, Jon Snow
Family Members Lost: Viserys
The former rulers of the Seven Kingdoms, the Targaryen family was virtually wiped out during Robert Baratheon’s rebellion. The Mad King’s two surviving children were then exiled to Essos, where they were constantly on the run from King Robert’s spies and assassins.
With a Dothraki army at his back and the Seven Kingdoms in his sights, the last male Targaryen fell victim to his own pride. Receiving a scalding crown of gold from Khal Drogo, Viserys dies painfully before he can even cross the Narrow Sea.
Following the tragic loss of her husband and son, Viserys’ sister Daenerys decides to take her small band of loyal Dothraki and conquer Slaver’s Bay. After a series of close calls and amazing events, Dany ends up as the Queen of Meereen. With her eyes set on Westeros, and the crown of the Seven Kingdoms, Daenerys is last seen crossing the sea and heading for King’s Landing with a giant fleet and three full-grown dragons at her back.
During the explosive Sixth Season, the mystery of Jon Snow’s true parentage is finally revealed. Daenerys is no longer the last remaining Targaryen. Although he doesn’t know it, the current King of the North is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.
Prospects For The Future:
The future of the Targaryen family depends on the power of the two remaining members. Jon Snow is currently the King in the North and Daenerys is on her way to invade King’s Landing.
If Dany is able to overthrow the villainous Queen Cersei, she will be the undisputed ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. With her on the throne in the South and her nephew ruling the North, there will be no stopping the Targaryen family.
