Game Of Thrones Preview: What To Expect From Season 6 Premiere
1. Jon Snow Is Still Dead, Davos Battles The Watch
"Jon Snow is dead."
Just incase HBO, the producers, the cast, and anyone else involved in the series hadn't made that clear over the past nine months, the synopsis for The Red Woman took one last opportunity to remind us of that dramatic end to Season 5.
So, yes, we're going to be starting Season 6 with a dead Jon Snow, and that's likely the way it'll remain throughout this first episode. That synopsis combined with the title indicates something happening with Jon and Melisandre, but it would feel quite rushed if they brought him back straightaway, even if it does need to happen sooner rather than later.
Instead, the premiere will more likely be concerned with Jon's dead body, and the man defending it. Davos has been a prominent part of the marketing, and we now know that when he's drawing Longclaw and standing over Jon's body, he's getting ready to fight the Night's Watch mutineers who killed their Lord Commander. We've already seen part of that, and we should get the full scene in this episode.
