Game Of Thrones Preview: What To Expect From Season Finale Mother's Mercy

9. Something Happens In Dorne

The Dorne storyline has been the most criticised part of the show this year, with good reason as it has been poorly paced and often hasn€™t seemed to serve much of a purpose. It reached some sort of conclusion last week, with it being agreed that Jaime and Bronn could go freely back to King€™s Landing, taking Princess Myrcella and Prince Trystane with them. Surely that can€™t be all there is to it though? Ellaria may have bent the knee to Doran Martell in the previous episode, but she - along with the Sand Snakes - may well have something else up their sleeves, while Doran€™s own true motives could be called into question. Maybe it€™s just wishful thinking after a disappointing arc, but the resolution of Jaime et al just leaving without any further conflict or twists seems too easy. And nothing is ever easy in Westeros. In the teaser we hear Jaime state €œwe can€™t help who we love.€ This echoes what Ellaria said to him last week, as she revealed knowing about him and Cersei, so it could be that more happens between those two characters before Jaime can actually get back to his sister.
