Game Of Thrones: Ranking Every Major Battle From Worst To Best
17. Sack Of Mole's Town
We'd heard a lot about just how vicious, wicked, and, well, wild the Free Folk could be, and while there were flashes of that before, it's the Sack of Mole's Town where we get to realise how nasty the Wildlings really are.
The poor villagers don't stand a chance as the Free Folk tear through the town, rampaging, pillaging and killing everyone in sight, all led by none other than the now fan-favourite Tormund.
It also works well to flesh out Ygritte's character a bit more, making her a sympathetic figure (to a degree) as she spares Gilly's life, and although this is the whole reason Olly became a thing, which is cause enough to hate it, it's an effective spot of carnage to raise the stakes before the big battle between the Wildlings and Night's Watch.
