Wildcard time. Sansa wrote a letter and there’s not a chance in any of the Seven Hells that it wasn’t addressed to Littlefinger. She needs him, she needs his army, his Knights of the Vale. It makes so much sense for a last-ditch intervention by Baelish’s new army in so many ways.
He is playing a constant game to seek out the winning team. Trumping the Boltons at Winterfell and restoring the Starks to their rightful place at Winterfell would be a significant indicator of the elusive ‘winning team’.
Baelish has had a subdued season, but that will be to pave a silent path for his return to the fold with true force. For the reasons that he still has an enormous role to play and that he has barely featured in Season 6, I can’t see any way Baelish is worming his way into Season 7.
