Game Of Thrones Season 6: 14 New Cast Members You Need To Know About

3. Pilou Asbæk

Game Of Thrones Ian Mcshane
DR1

The Actor: 33-year-old Danish actor Pilou Asbæk is relatively unknown to the masses, with his biggest role to date being that of Kasper Juul in the political drama series Borgen. He has also made appearances in The Borgias, Luc Besson sci-fi Lucy, and will be in the remake of 1959 epic Ben-Hur.

The Role: Asbæk will be playing Euron Greyjoy, also known as the Crow's Eye. When the casting calls were announced, it was the ones that seemed to indicate Randyll Tarly and Euron Greyjoy that caused the most excitement, because of their potential as being total bad-asses. That's particularly true of Euron, because he's not just a fearsome warrior, but also an incredibly deadly pirate, who even claims to have sailed as far as Asshai.

Asbæk is a lot younger than the original casting call, which was looking for someone in their 40s-50s and had fans dreaming of Mads Mikkelson or Richard Armitage, but he does look as though he could convincingly pull off being menacing, and looks enough like Alfie Allen to comfortably pass for a Greyjoy.
