Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Huge Questions After The New Trailer
3. Is Cleganebowl Happening Yet?
A large man with long hair pulls out a sword in what looks to be some kind of arena. His face is obscured, so it's hard to be fully aware of his identity. The shot only lasts a second, but that second is enough to send the fanbase into a furor.
Cue the Cleganebowl hype.
Realistically, now that the Hound has returned, Cleganebowl looks like it could be a real possibility. So let's assume for a moment that's what is going on here.
What kind of situation would arise that would require a one-on-one battle between the Hound and the Mountain? Fans would likely be disappointed if two just happened to meet on a battlefield, with the Hound likely supporting the Starks, and the Mountain definitely supporting the Lannisters. Rather, the two need an epic showdown, along the lines of Gregor Clegane vs. Oberyn Martell.
Season 6 looked like it was heading toward Cleganebowl with Cersei's trial, but that ended up not happening (thanks, Tommen). So it looks as though the show will have to invent a new reason to get the two brothers to face off. With all out war imminent, it doesn't look like there's going to be any trials in the near future.
If all of that manages to come together successfully, then there's really only two other questions that matters: can Cleganebowl possibly live up to its incredible level of hype? And if so...
Who will win?
