Game Of Thrones Season 7: 12 Big Questions After 'Stormborn'
7. Can Qyburn's Weapon Really Kill A Dragon?
The short answer here is yes.
At first, Qyburn's new toy for Cersei might seem a tad hopeful at best, since it's effectively just a giant crossbow. And using that to even hit a dragon isn't going to be easy.
However, there is precedent for this working before (something you'd think Qyburn might've mentioned, really). One of Aegon the Conqueror's great dragons, Maraxes, was killed by taking a bolt from one of these scorpions in the eye - and his dragonrider, Rhaenys Targaryen (both sister and wife of Aegon) was killed too.
If it happened once, then it could potentially happen again: they just need the Westerosi equivalent of Bard the Bowman to turn up and fire the thing. There is a good chance Daenerys will lose a dragon, but will this be how it happens? It does seem unlikely, and another moment of improbable simplicity, but Qyburn has proven he's not someone to be underestimated.
