Game Of Thrones Season 7: 12 Big Questions After 'Stormborn'

8. Is Jorah Actually Being Cured?

Jorah's condition has significantly worsened since last time we saw him, with Stormborn showing that they greyscale has spread over his torso and is now wracking his body, leaving him with just six months before the disease takes hold of his mind.

It's a tragic moment for the character, but luckily Sam is on hand to help. While Archmaester Ebrose is very matter-of-fact about there being nothing to save Jorah now, Sam tries anyway and, along with providing us with another disgusting moment from the Citadel, it appears to work.

There have been various theories about how to cure greyscale: would Jorah need to eat dragonglass, or have a dragon breathe on him, or some run-in with Quaithe? Nah, apparently all you do is to apply some lotion and then cut it off, which seems startlingly simple.

Too simple, in fact. While Jorah is indeed likely to survive regardless (if only to die a more heroic death), this absolutely cannot be the big cure to greyscale... can it?
