Few Game of Thrones characters have had the post-show life of Gendry. The blacksmith, who became a fan favourite due to his relationship with Arya and Joe Dempsie's winning portrayal, has become a huge meme since his departure in the Season 3 finale.

Years have come and gone, but still Gendry rows on. Is Season 7 finally the year he reaches the shore, presumably with arms like boulders?

Dempsie was spotted in Northern Ireland at the outset of production, though it wasn't on set, so may just have been a social visit (sure...). More recently, however, he's been spotted on the show's Spanish set, a stronger suggestion that he's definitely coming back (unless it's a massive troll job).

So, where could he be? A reunion with Arya? Meeting up with the Brotherhood? Working as a blacksmith in Oldtown?

Nope. The set was Dragonstone. Y'know, the place he set off from in Season 3. Meaning that he got absolutely nowhere in four years. Brilliant.
