Game Of Thrones Season 7 Reactions: What "Dragonstone" Really Means
7. The Free Folk Have The Wall
It may have been unthinkable to the old Night's Watch, but the Wildlings have just been handed key strategic locations along the Wall, with most focus going to Eastwatch-By-The-Sea, where Jon seemed to believe the Walkers would most likely attack first.
It's a clever decision by the show, as it gives the Wildlings - and specifically Tormund - something to do beyond demuring in the background. Sadly, they've now served their purpose, and they're probably now going to be cannon-fodder, which is a devastating thing to write for Tormund's number one fan...
It also fills in the logic gap around how the Night's Watch (whose forces number about 11 men now) could possibly defend the Wall, and makes it temporarily unnecessary for Jon and all of his bannermen to go and sit on the Wall for a couple of episodes waiting for Winter to come. The Wildlings are no slouches in battle either, so we'll no doubt see some fire-works when they fall at Eastwatch. And maybe Tormund might escape and live on to marry Brienne. Right? RIGHT?!
Also, Bran is at the Wall now, and his presence will presumably be known to Jon Snow very soon, since Dolores Edd is in charge at Castle Black.
