Game Of Thrones Season 8: 10 Crucial Things That Must Happen
4. *Lots* Of Major Character Deaths

Has Game of Thrones lost its edge? It was a question posed - not unfairly - after a seventh season which seemingly had the chance to kill off a few big names and decided not to do so. While we did see the likes of Olenna, Littlefinger, and Viserion perish, there were moments where it looked like the end for characters like Jaime, Tormund, and Beric too, with some viewers arguing they should've been killed off in those instances.
While not killing those characters off was actually fine in Season 7 - it's not like there weren't any big deaths, and it needs people around for Season 8 - it's a different story this time around. This is where things are coming to an end. Where death is on the march. This isn't the time for close calls and near misses, but the time to really go through with it.
There are a number of characters who'll be fighting in these battles, and just about anyone could feasibly die as Season 8 progresses. We need to get a real sense that no one is safe, and that means LOTS of deaths.
