Game Of Thrones Season 8: 10 Things That Were ACTUALLY GOOD
1. Cleganebowl
This was simply awesome. Totally ridiculous but in the kind of way that makes great entertainment. Beyond a minor taster in season 1, Sandor and Gregor had never thrown down with one another the way we'd always hoped they would. We knew it was the Hound’s dream to teach his giant brother a lesson some day but with every season, the dream became more distant.
The Mountain, meanwhile, changed actor 3 times and became a zombie. Strongman Hafthor Björnsson took the reigns from season 4 onwards, giving us the infamous squashing of Oberyn Martell’s head. By season 8, these 2 had changed drastically yet one thing remained: their hatred for each other.
Marching up the stairs to destruction, the Hound goes to war in the most violent fight of the series (even more ferocious than the Hound’s brawl with Brienne). In the heat of King’s Landing’s armageddon, fans finally got the fight they’d been clamouring for for years. A triumph all round, it provided a grisly but fitting end to Sandor Clegane, a troubled fan favourite whose life had revolved around violence since childhood.
As for Gregor, it was high time he got his comeuppance for being such a sadistic bully turned undead brute.
