4. The Night King Dies?!

Now, this one is probably particularly contentious and there will be a lot of people who completely reject it out of hand, but there is a thread of Thrones fans who believe that the Night King's story ends at Winterfell.

That belief seems to stem mostly from the thinking that Cersei is in fact the real "final boss" of Game Of Thrones and that the War of the Two Queens matters more to the final half of the final season than continuing the war with the Dead.

The suggestion, then, is that the plan to use Bran as bait in the Godswood works and the Night King comes for him, cutting down Theon and the remaining Iron Born and then attempting to wipe the memories of Man from the Seven Kingdoms by killing Bran. At that point, Jon will realise his "calling" as the Prince That Was Promised, cut down the Night King and the Dead Army will fall. How else could any of those holed up in Winterfell get out of their predicament than by victory that calls the wights off, after all?

Even if this doesn't happen - and let's be honest, it would be a wild one - the Night King and Bran ARE likely to face off, though...
