Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'Winterfell' REALLY Means

12. Qyburn Has A Spy

If you think it's an accident that the first scene we see in King's Landing is of Qyburn immediately passing the same information to Cersei that Bran had only just told Dany and Jon in Winterfell, you're not paying attention enough.

There is no possible way Qyburn could have known this information without it being passed to him from Winterfell. The implication is that only Bran knows about The Wall (besides those who witnessed its fall, of course, but they haven't told Jon yet since he talks about sending ravens to the Night's Watch to rally South), with even some of the Northern bannermen still in their castles unaware of impending doom. And it's not like Jon would have sent Lord Umber home if he'd known about the Wall's fall.

So, how did King's Landing find out so quickly? Well, because Qyburn has to have a spy there. You could suggest he's merely using Varys' "little birds" again, but it would be far better if someone on Dany's side was passing on information. You could have been forgiven for thinking it was Tyrion, if it wasn't for Qyburn then putting a target on his head, so it's a fairly intriguing question.
