Game Of Thrones: 10 Best Character Pairings So Far

8. Sansa Stark And Littlefinger

This was a surprise pairing in the show as it was in the books and one that is already bursting with potential: who knew that the elder Stark daughter could be any more than a pitiful victim? It turns out that under the tutelage of one of the most devious, manipulative characters on the show Sansa can play the game as well as anyone else. In The Mountain And The Viper we finally saw that new side to Sansa: despite knowing full well that a lustful Petyr Baelish had more designs on her than a care for her well-being, she wove a story of truth and lies to impress upon the lords of the Vale that Baelish only had their best interests at heart, that Lysa's madness had driven her to suicide and used her tears to seal the deal. Spending all that time in the court of King's Landing has made a lasting impression: Sansa has transformed from the scared girl to a confident woman and with Littlefinger she has cemented her power base in the Eyrie. Only time will tell how far her scheming will take her, but as the protégé of Littlefinger she has emerged as a more intriguing and uncertain character. Perhaps as mysterious as Littlefinger himself, as she has certainly made him even more interesting by his relationship to her.
