Game Of Thrones: 10 Things We Learned From "First Of His Name"

2. Bran Takes His Warg Abilities To The Next Level

As stated in the last section, Locke was scouting Craster€™s Keep. When he gets back to camp, he informs Jon there are 11 men, but most of them are drunk and don€™t care what€™s going on. He also tell Jon to avoid the hut on the west side because there are hounds chained up inside. This is actually the hut that Bran and the others are being held in. Locke wants to take care of business there by himself. Later that night, Karl visits the cabin with the intention to rape Meera and make the others watch. Before he can do that, Jojen tells him that if he lets his sister go, he€™ll tell him his future. Karl ignores this proposal, but Jojen promptly tells him that he€™s seen him die that night. At that moment, Jon and the men of the Night€™s Watch attack Craster€™s Keep. While Jon and the men fight the mutineers, Locke heads toward the cabin. Finding the four of them, Locke asks Bran if he€™s Brandon Stark. Bran stays silent, so Locke cuts his leg to prove he€™s a cripple. Bran cries for help, but Locke says that if he keeps yelling, he€™ll kill his friends. He tosses the young Stark boy over his shoulder and leaves the cabin, but not before Bran catches a nod from Jojen. Understanding, Bran wargs into Hodor, who€™s been spending this whole time freaking out. Now inside the giant man€™s body, he catches up to Locke and snaps his neck. Going back into his own body, Bran asks the conscious Hodor to go cut the others loose. After Hodor retrieves the others, Bran calls for Jon, but Jojen warns against this, saying that if Jon finds him he€™ll take him to Castle Black, and they€™ll never find the three-eyed raven. Realizing that he must travel a different path, Bran agrees and states that they need to free Summer before leaving. We€™ve seen Bran warg into Summer many times, but this is the first time we€™ve seen him warg into a human. This hasn€™t been made clear in the show, but the books have stated that it€™s difficult for a human to enter the mind of another human. Since Hodor is simple, that might have made it easier for Bran to enter his mind, but it€™s impressive nonetheless. He€™s no longer limited to just entering Summer€™s body, but other species as well. However, as Jojen warned him if Bran stays too long in another creature€™s body, he€™ll lose more of himself. Warging too long into a human might have other adverse effects. As for Locke, he was sent by Roose Bolton to kill Bran and Jon. Mission failed! Jon never learned that the sellsword was an assassin, but at least one of the threats against him has been neutralised. Which brings us to the last section.
