When asked to briefly describe Game of Thrones, it's usually much easier to just say that the show is awesome than to bother to try to summarize what it's actually about. Where to start, really? It's supernatural. It's historical. It's political. With enough subplots to power a dozen spinoffs, an episode of Game of Thrones can be downright exhausting to watch, let alone explain. There's nothing brief about it. Of course, while we can't be expected to remember every minute detail of the three seasons of the show so far, there are plenty of moments that are impossible to forget. There are some that are so amazing that we want to watch them over and over again. There are some that are so unbelievable that we need to watch them over and over again. And then there are those that are so devastating that we never want to watch them ever again...but usually end up doing so anyway. After all, we may not necessarily remember the name of Ned's greatsword, but we can all remember whose head it chopped off back in Season 1. So, here are the 15 biggest, most memorable, and most mind-blowing moments from the first three seasons of Game of Thrones (in chronological order).
