Game Of Thrones: 7 Characters Who've Changed Beyond Recognition

7. Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys' transformation into a serious badass was complete last season with just one word: "Dracarys." It's difficult to recall the little girl who was subject to the whims of her idiotic brother Viserys and equate her with the queen who commands an army of former slaves and nurses a dragon in her lap. Dany wants to become a conqueror in Meereen and later in her homeland, and at the rate she's going, all things seem possible. Two Swords slips us the first reminders in some time that she isn't infallible. Her flirtation with the slippery Daario Naharis can't end well, and her growing dragons are not as domesticated as they appear to be. She may be a queen, but she's a young queen without a kingdom and she's a long way from landing in Westeros. The most telling detail in the premiere is the moment Daenerys tosses aside Daario's flowers as soon as she's needed. The khaleesi knows her part and plays it very well, but it remains to be seen whether she throws away her sentimentality as easily as Daario's gift.
