Game Of Thrones Season 4: 12 Characters Who Could Steal The Show

4. Stannis

Oh Stannis, what have they done to thee? If there€™s any character that needs an overhaul it€™s him. How shocked would you be if you were told Stannis is a huge fan favorite among readers? His unmoving sense of justice and dry-wit humour has left a lasting impression for years. First appearing in season 2, Stannis was faithful to his counterpart and very memorable to audiences. How could he not be? He had his brother murdered by a shadow baby, walked around with an exotic red woman, and led a failed yet stirring siege against King's Landing. Then Season 3 aired. Stannis did absolutely nothing except sit around at Dragonstone. D&D also changed aspects of his character. He became more ruthless and power hungry instead of seeking out justice, and Melisandre could easily manipulate him. She had him wrapped around her finger, and his best friend Davos Seaworth was imprisoned for speaking out against her. Sure, he was made to be more likable from his scenes with his daughter, but that was ruined when he attempted to sacrifice his nephew for a chance at the throne. Even by the end of the season he received no characterisation. However, that's soon to change. He's now back in the game heading for the Wall to help them against the White Walkers, and Stannis has been at his best when he€™s out in Westeros planning attacks on his enemies. Hopefully no longer being trapped at Dragonstone will clear his head up, and we're already seeing similar scenes from previews like when he says, €œI will not be the page in someone else€™s history book!€ Yes Stannis! Prove them wrong.
