Game Of Thrones Season 5: 10 Perfect Castings We'd Love To See

4. Prince Doran Martell - Antonio Banderas

Prince Doran will be making his debut in the upcoming fifth season, after only being talked about up to this point. For the role of Oberyn's older brother, they're looking for an actor in his fifties, and it seems like they're going to be sticking with Latino actors for the members of the Martell clan. Doran is a pensive leader, who in the book is described by Tywin Lannister as being, "a cautious man, a reasoned man, subtle, deliberate, even indolent to a degree. He is a man who weighs the consequences of every word and every action." He is confined to a wheelchair due to a painful case of gout, and often refuses public appearances to avoid seeming weak. Banderas would be a great choice for this role. He definitely has the look, and is believable as the older brother of Pedro Pascal, the actor who plays Oberyn. We can easily see him falling into the role of a man who is slow to anger or take a course of action, but is by no means an ineffective ruler. He's a respected actor who hasn't had a big project in a while, and the Game of Thrones crew is known for getting the best out of their incredible cast.
