2. The Bat Flies Through The Window

Returning to Gotham City, Bruce Wayne was ready to take on the criminal masses... or so he thought. He had the skills and tools, but he was missing one critical component: fear. In stories like Batman: Year One and Mask of the Phantasm, there€™s a scene in which Bruce goes to fight crime for the first time, and while he is successful, the criminals aren€™t afraid of him, because, to them, he€™s just a man. It becomes immediately apparent that he needs to be something more: a force of terror to evildoers. As he stated in one of his first appearances, €œCriminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot,€ and he needed to become something that would strike fear into their hearts. This brings us to the pivotal scene from the comics, which recent stories depicted as taking place after Bruce was injured during one of his first missions. Bruce is sitting in his father€™s study looking for inspiration, when suddenly, a bat crashes through the window. Recalling the fear he felt as a child for bats, he considers this an omen and decides that this is the symbol that he will use in his crusade. Likely happening in one of the final episodes of the show, this scene will drive the series finale. After designing a terrifying costume and adjusting his gadgetry, this leads us to the most important moment of all...
