20 TV Shows That Failed To Stick The Landing

Ozark was, throughout its a run, a thrilling tale of family and crime that, whilst undeniably a slow-burn, had plenty of narrative thud to keep viewers engaged. 

It was during its fourth and final season, though, that the Jason Bateman-starring drama started to lose sight of itself and its key players, rushing its character arcs to completion whilst leaving its final showdowns muted by dull action and anti-climatic twists. 

There was the dangerous and indomitable Ruth (Julia Garner), who was killed almost as an afterthought despite seasons of strength, and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), son of Bateman and Laura Linney's embattled protagonists, who got a cut-to-black cliffhanger that really should have been played out, given the rift between him and his parents.

It was all rather anti-climactic and meh, especially when you realise the major car crash teased all season was a red herring.
