Harry Potter: 10 Book Moments Every Fan Wants In A TV Adaptation
4. St Mungo’s Hospital – The Order Of The Phoenix
St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is the central location for two chapters in Rowling’s original story. As well as offering an insight into the medical realm of the wizarding world, Harry, Ron and Hermione also bump into Neville Longbottom and Gilderoy Lockhart during their visit to the hospital.
As enjoyable as it is to experience Lockhart’s memory loss, it’s the scene with Neville that’s the most impactful. Due to the curses inflicted upon them by the Death Eaters, Frank and Alice Longbottom were driven into insanity and became permanent residents at the hospital.
Witnessing their inability to communicate with their son is one of the most heartfelt moments in the franchise, and it’s a great shame this emotive scene never made it into the movie.
With a TV show, however, there would be plenty of time to adapt the scenes at St Mungo’s and give Neville’s character that extra layer of sympathy.
