Harry Potter: 10 Book Moments Every Fan Wants In A TV Adaptation

3. Harry’s Quibbler Interview – The Order Of The Phoenix

‘The Beetle at Bay’ is another chapter which was completely left out of The Order of the Phoenix adaptation. The chapter centres on Harry’s trip to Hogsmeade on Valentine’s Day. And after a disastrous date with Cho Chang, he heads for the Three Broomsticks and looks for Hermione.

To his great surprise, he finds her sitting with Luna Lovegood and Rita Skeeter. Using the former’s connection with her father (who’s the editor of the Quibbler) and the latter’s skill as a journalist, Hermione intends to give Harry’s story about Voldemort’s return more publicity.

Yet the real highlight of this scene is the dynamic between the characters. Hermione’s cool intellect, Rita’s scathing attitude, and Luna’s mad aura combine to make some of the best dialogue Rowling has ever penned.

With a sharp script and some smart casting choices, this moment would be great to experience on screen. And it would also provide some much-needed comic relief during Harry’s most angst-ridden year at school.
