Harry Potter: 10 Book Moments Every Fan Wants In A TV Adaptation

5. Luna’s Quidditch Commentary – The Half-Blood Prince

During Harry’s sixth year, many students apply to be Quidditch commentators in the wake of Lee Jordan’s departure the previous summer. Luna Lovegood is given the privilege of commentating on Harry’s second match of the season – Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff.

Luna’s performance is both a disaster and a success, depending on your perspective. Professor McGonagall certainly doesn’t approve and frequently has to intervene in order to remind the spectators about the score.

However, Luna’s commentary is also highly entertaining. She attempts to draw the crowd’s attention to interestingly-shaped clouds, for instance. And partway through the game, she suggests Zacharias Smith (one of the Hufflepuff chasers) has a condition called ‘Loser’s Lurgy’.

Due to the fact Harry is knocked out fairly quickly, the rest of Luna’s commentary isn’t featured. Still, there’s plenty of amusing material during this Quidditch match that fans would love to see on screen.
