How I Met Your Mother: Every Wedding Episode Ranked Worst To Best
9. The Wedding
Simply named ‘The Wedding’, this episode deals with the struggle of a wedding from a guest’s perspective, making it the only one in which none of our main characters play a key role. Because of this, we feel an emotional detachment from the actual events of the wedding and instead are more interested on whether Ted can secure his plus one.
Ted runs into constant struggles, especially Claudia who is acting like a bridezilla, and, while this hardship is entertaining, we don’t feel any sort of affection towards Stuart and Claudia whose relationship is unstable at best. We also see the struggle between Marshall and Lily as they have different views on what their own wedding is like – a foreshadow into the future.
This episode isn’t necessarily bad, though with it being the most detached wedding episode from the main story, it’s hard to really love it as it mainly acts as a lead in to the episode which follows.
